A video produced by the Council for Disabled Children called 'What you need to know about the Local Offer' is also available below.

What information is included in the Local Offer?

The Local Offer brings together in one place information on services for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities in relation to education, health, social care, short breaks, transport, leisure and preparation for adulthood. It also has information about Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans including how to request an assessment for an EHC Plan. The Local Offer also includes details of the range of advice and support available for families.

Please note that inclusion of services within the Local Offer does not mean that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is endorsing or recommending those services. Please read our disclaimer for further information.

How has RBWM's Local Offer been developed to date and how will it develop further?

The Local Offer was developed by a working group including parents, schools, early years settings, local colleges and a range of professionals across education, social care and health.

We have also engaged with families and young people through a range of consultation groups and forums so that families can actively shape and improve the Local Offer. We have collated all the feedback on our Local Offer and how we are taking this forward in the Annual Report for 2014-2015.

Our Local Offer will continually develop over time with the help of this feedback from parents, carers and young people and the inclusion of additional information about services from providers.

We are also planning to develop information on 'preparing for adulthood' specifically for young people in a format more accessible for them. This will be held on 'WAMSTER'- the Council's website for young people - and we are consulting with young people on the design and content of this information.

How do I access the Local Offer if I don't have access to the internet?

Leaflets and posters publicising the Local Offer have been made available in a number of local organisations and settings including children's centres, schools, early years settings, colleges, libraries, youth centres, leisure centres and Council buildings so that those without access to the internet are aware of the Local Offer and how they can access information. The poster is available under 'Related links' to the right of this page. The Local Offer is also being publicised with families through a range of local services including the Children and Young People Disability Service, the Information, Advice and Support Service and schools.

Families without access to the internet will be helped with the provision of information they need. You can come into the Town Hall in Maidenhead and view information online on one of the computers in reception. You can also visit one of the libraries in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and use one of the computers there. Some computers at the libraries have Dolphin software to help with accessibility - please speak to one of the library staff for more information.

You can also speak to the Children and Young People Disability Service about information you would like from the Local Offer. Information can also be requested by contacting the Children and Young People Disability Service on 01628 685878 or writing to: Children and Young People Disability Service, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Zone E, 2nd Floor, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1RF.

How can I sign up for Local Offer updates?

Local Offer updates are produced on regular basis to give familes a round up of what's new on the Local Offer or to look at a particular area of support.

These are published on the Local Offer and emailed to families through various channels including the Children and Young People Disability Service, the Information, Advice and Support Service and local special schools.

If you would like to receive the updates via email, just let us know by emailing LocalOffer@rbwm.gov.uk
