National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS)

The National Deaf Children's Society is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.

NDCS offer free information and support to families with a deaf child through publications and web forums, the Freephone Helpline,  specialist advisers and family events.

NDCS run various activities and events where deaf children and young people can learn new skills, gain confidence and meet other deaf children, often for the first time.

They campaign on behalf of deaf children and young people to ensure that they get the education, health and family support services they need, and empower families to do the same.

They also give deaf children the opportunity to take part in activities that they can sometimes be excluded from – like football or joining a club – by offering deaf-friendly training to leisure organisations that work with children.

NDCS also provide guidance for professionals to help them work with deaf children in the best way possible.
