Ataxia is the name given to a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination, and speech. There are many different types of ataxia that can affect people in different ways.

Over 10,000 people in the UK have a form of ataxia. There is currently no cure but we are working to find one every day.

Ataxia UK support people affected by ataxia with:

  • research information
  • advice
  • welfare grants
  • campaigning and the opportunity to meet and help others in a similar position. They have branches throughout the UK.
