Optalis logo

From 3 April 2017 this service will be provided by Optalis on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

Boyn Grove is a Learning Disability community resource centre for adults in Maidenhead.   It is for adults with learning disabilities, who may also have additional complex physical disabilities/ sensory needs, living within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM).

Our service users range in age from 19 to over 65. Some live at home with parents or relatives, others in group homes or live independently in the community.

At our day services we aim to help individuals develop their personal skills so that they can take as full a part as possible in the life of the community.

We do this through a wide range of activities, developed and offered according to the needs of the service users.  The centre is situated close to the town centre and other local amenities such as the leisure centre and parks.  Planned activities run from the centre and in the local community. Please see the leaflet under useful documents to the right of this page for further details.

We also have ‘Bridge that Gap’ coffee shop, which offers work opportunities for our service users and is open to the general public there is also a library on site run by RBWM.  Boyn Grove also has a large Sensory area which leads out into the Sensory Trail.

We aim to:

  • Provide parents and carers with a break from caring.
  • Offer a safe, supportive and friendly environment for people with a learning disability to maintain and develop skills.
  • To promote choice, independence and involvement.
  • To support people with a learning disability to maintain and develop friendships and social networks.
  • To offer personalised support for individuals.
