Disabled Children's Register

Children and Young People Disability Service logo

All local authorities are required by the Children Act 1989 to hold a register of disabled children which is held on a computer, subject to the strict requirements of the Data Protection Act.

The information from the register helps local authorities to identify the needs of children and young people living in the area and to plan future services based on their needs.

It is voluntary for parents to register.  If you live in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and would like to register your child or young person to be on the Disabled Children's Register, please contact the Children and Young People Disability Service on 01628 685878 or email CYPDS@achievingforchildren.org.uk to complete an application form.
