Motability Scheme

Motability was established to help disabled people with their mobility needs. The Motability Scheme can help with the lease of a car or a powered wheelchair if you or your child are entitled to either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance or the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment.

Please contact Motability for further information and to see if you are eligible or go to the Motability website.

If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, you can learn to drive in your Motability car at the age of 16. You may also be able to get financial help towards the cost of your driving lessons.  Please contact the Motability Customer Services Team on 0300 456 4566 for more information on applying for help.
