ABC to Read - Literacy Support

ABC to read logo

ABC (Assisting Berkshire Children) to Read is a local charity providing support to children who are struggling to read and lack confidence. We recruit, train and support community volunteers to provide one-to-one mentoring of primary school children who are struggling to read. We currently have around 120 volunteers in over 60 schools in Berkshire.  We believe that children who have poor reading skills benefit enormously from individual attention, whether this is from a mentor or parent, who can give encouragement and make reading fun.

We also provide workshops to parents to show them how the can support their children from home.

Our office is at Bridge Hall in Reading but our services cover the whole of Berkshire.
