How will I know my child/ young person will be safe using this service?
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing the highest quality of care for children and young people and considers the safeguarding and protection of children to be a high priority throughout the organisation. Safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of all children and young people who use our services, including those with special educational needs and disability is essential to providing health care; this includes protecting their health, human rights and ensuring they are free from harm, abuse or neglect. ‘The action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm is 'everyone’s responsibility’ • The Trust meets statutory requirements in relation to Criminal Records Bureau checks • Child Protection Polices and systems are up to date and robust including processes for flagging up children who miss outpatient appointments and a system for flagging children for whom there are child protection/safeguarding concerns. • There is a Board level Executive Director lead for safeguarding • Named professionals are clear about their roles and have sufficient time and support to undertake them. • There is a rolling programme of training within the Trust to ensure that all eligible staff are appropriately trained
