Anti-Bullying Alliance

ABA logo

The Anti-bullying Alliance (ABA) is a coalition of organisations and individuals working together to stop bullying and create safe environments in which children and young people can live, grow, play and learn.

ABA defines bullying as the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or through cyberspace.

ABA  supports a growing network of almost 1000 schools and colleges across the country. The ABA coordinates Anti-Bullying Week each November and is the national voice for evidence based practice in relation to the prevention of bullying between children and young people.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance have a range of resources to help address bullying of children and young people with SEN and disabillities.  ABA also deliver free training to teachers and professionals working with children and young people to help stop bullying of disabled children and those with special educational needs.  See the website for further information.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance isn't able to deal with individual cases of bullying. However their website has lots of information of places to go to for information and advice about bullying issues. If you are a child or young person who is worried about bullying then contact ChildLine at any time 0800 1111 - calls are free and confidential.
